Aim?

B-P's single Aim of Citizenship

Adult Association?

All adults are volunteers, there are no paid "professionals." This is based on B-P's advice to keep Scouting an all-volunteer movement.

Advancement?

Advancement is based strictly on the mastery of Scoutcraft skills and Proficiency Badges: no Scoutmaster Conferences, Boards of review or "Scout Spirit" requirements.  Traditional Scouting is a game played to teach Citizenship strictly through indirect methods.

Ideals?

Scout Promise is based on Baden-Powell's "Three Points:" 1) Duty to ‘God’ and country; 2) To help other people at all times, and 3) To obey the Scout Law.

Optional "Outlander Promise" (attributed to Baden-Powell).

Scout Laws are Baden-Powell's original ten Laws.

Outdoors?

(See Advancement)

Patrol Method?

All Scouting is done in Patrols.

Uniforms?

The inexpensive Uniform is designed to be used as an outdoor method, rather than as expensive indoor clothing for "formal occasions." The Uniform should should be a joy to wear and its design should scream "Wilderness Adventure!"

Leadership Development and Personal Growth?

These methods are seen as a natural consequence of using the Patrol Method in the great outdoors.
