Harvest Dance of Zuni For this dance, there was an orchestra of men, dressed in their ordinary garb, with bright-colored head handkerchiefs, sashes, etc., over more or less White man's clothes. There were two war drums (tombes), accompanied by the voices of all. Enter thirteen women, in Corn Dance costumes (see p. 151 Green corn Dance), but without the evergreens, and bearing each a large decorated Zuni pot on her head. They formed a shallow semi-circle at the back, but did not dance. Enter the dancers, men and women, the former with bows and arrows. The dance was nothing more than a rapid back-trot step, in vigorous four-part time. It is a dance of thanksgiving for the gathered crops. This might be worked into a story as follows:
