CAMP FIRE PROGRAM #1

The Camp Fire has been prepared in advance. The Scouts are seated around it in a circle.

Stunt by Eagle Tent.
Song.

This is a STUNT NIGHT PROGRAM.  Each tent is limited to five minutes.  It must move right along in order to keep the interest of the crowd.

Suggested Songs:

Hail, hail, the Gang's all here.
Old MacDonald's Farm.
By the Light of the Moon.
There was a Father Had Two Sons.
The Scoutmaster's Prayer.

CAMP FIRE PROGRAM #2

This is more on the order of a formal program, design to impress the importance of Scout rank upon the Scouts taking part.

Lighting of the Fire. (Indian.)
Song "Trail the Eagle."
Investiture Ceremony of Tenderfoot.
What my Tenderfoot Badge has meant to me --five-minute address by a Second Class Scout.
Song: "Follow Up."
Awarding of Second Class Badges.
What my Second Class Badge has meant to me --First Class Scout.
Selected Serious Playlet, running about 10 minutes.
Awarding of First Class Badges.
Congratulation of Scouts having attained ranks higher than First Class.
What my First Class Badge has meant to me  --an Eagle Scout.
Inspirational talk by the Camp Leader.
Taps.

This program is to be put on one of the last evenings of the session or Camp period.

The Scout speakers should be selected for their ability to put over a message, for their ability to hold the interest of the crowd.

Use boys wherever possible.  It is a well known fact that boys will listen to other boys with interest and patience, where they will become impatient and fret during an address, no matter how excellent, by an adult.

CAMP FIRE PROGRAM #3

This program can be described as Dramatic Night in Camp.  Prior to the camp fire, stunts or dramatizations have been issued to all the members of the camp.  The program lasts two hours:

(All Acts are introduced by the Camp Fire Leader.)

Comical Introductory Remarks by Director.
"The Strongest Man in the World," assisted by several Scouts (or any similar stunt).
Selections by "The Agony Quartet."
Comical Boxing Contest between the smallest and tallest boy, the fattest and skinniest boy, etc.  The exhibition ends with a soot boxing match, i. e., boys stripped to waist.  Gloves smeared with lampblack.
Serious Songs by a good boy singer. (Every camp has one--find him through an inter-tent singing con test. )
Professor Tinpani's Kitchen Orchestra--Tin-pans. Combs, Soup Ladles, etc.
Comic Monologue.
Cornet or Instrumental Solo.
Presentation of a one-act Play.
Taps.

This program must move right along to hold the interest.  Every act must be ready to go on without delay.  The announcer should be able to introduce the acts and create the right atmosphere for them.  It is suggested that the camp leadership review the act before the performance
