Guess 1 inch, 1 foot, 1 yard, 1 rod, 1 acre, 100 yards, 200 yards, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, and 1 mile, for coup, total average within 20% of accuracy; within 10%o for grand coup.

Guess the height of 10 trees or other high things, and the weight of 10 stones or other things ranging from one ounce to 50 pounds, total average within 10% of accuracy, for coup; within 5% for grand coup.

Measure the height of 10 trees without climbing, or 10 distances across a river without crossing, total average within 10% of accuracy, for coup; within 5% for grand coup. Tools: an axe and a pocket rule or tape line only.

Know and name 15 star groups, for coup; know 20 star groups and tell the names and something about at least one star in each, for grand coup.

Identify 10 trees and tell the advantages and disadvantages of the wood from each to the camper, for coup. Identify and thus describe 20, for grand coup.
