Bending Trench
|
|
By Bill Mills-CurranHere's the full description of the heating trench. 1. Make a trench the length of the PVC pipe that you need to heat. An option is to use bricks in parallel lines to make walls instead of building a trench. 2. Use some scrap steel, like rebar, to lay across the trench at intervals to support the PVC while it's heating. I have no suggestions on how long it takes to heat or how to tell when it's "cooked". I would guess periodically testing the PVC flexibility is in order. I got the trench & charcoal suggestion from a Scouter in the Mohegan (Worcester, MA) Council (I can't remember which Scouter, though). |
