Each player is given a sheet of paper and the Scouter exhibits a card on which is written the first line of a verse of poetry, together with the last or rhyming words of the sub sequent four lines.

It may be something like the following: I could not see for the wind and rain, (train) (caught) (sought) (wane).

First the players take their papers and each writes on the line supplied and then adds a second line according to his fancy.

He next folds over the paper so that the writing cannot be seen and passes it to the person on his left.

This player adds whatever line he cares to compose, folds it over, and passes it on.

This continues until the complete verse of five lines is composed.

And then the poetic effusions are read aloud, usually amidst roars of laughter for the lines can prove extremely funny.

It should be noted that the words given in brackets in the above specimen need not be used.

Any word that rhymes with them will answer the purpose.
