ST. JOHN'S-GRACE ADULT BOOK DISCUSSIONLeo Tolstoy'sThe Kingdom of God Is Within YouThe Sunday night Adult Discussion Group at St. John's-Grace takes on a new book Sunday, April 15: Leo Tolstoy's The Kingdom of God Is Within You. Tolstoy, one of the greatest of all novelists, was also one of the most radical religious thinkers at the end of the nineteenth century. The book is subtitled Christianity Not as a Mystic Religion but as a New Theory of Life. It argues for the practice of "non-resistance to evil by force" - radical non-violence - and was cited by both Gandhi and Martin Luther King as having transformed their understanding of Christianity. Come join us for our first session at 7:30 p.m. on April 15 downstairs in the Walter Lord Room. Then discussion continues at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Sunday evenings of each month - approximately one chapter per session. Come to all or any of these sessions. We want to hear your views whether or not you agree with the author. The rules for discussion require that everyone's ideas are their own, and no one's ideas should be criticized or dismissed. So come and tell us yours! Copies of the book can be obtained for $10.00 from Rob Petersen, or call the church office at 885-1112. Here's the schedule:
