Sniff and Say

A dozen small blue bottles from the chemist's are required for this game. Each bottle is numbered and is half filled with some liquid.

Each player in turn is allowed one sniff at each bottle and must then write down what he thinks is in each bottle, numbering his list according to the numbers on the bottles. The most correct list wins.

Suitable liquids are:

bulletturpentine
bulletparaffin
bulletvinegar
bulletpetrol
bulletperfume
bulletweak ammonia
bulletWorcester sauce
bulletmetal polish
bulletYorkshire relish
bulletmethylated spirit
bulletcastor oil

Noises in the Jungle

The Umpire takes up his position behind a screen or partition. (If this is not possible the players are blindfolded.)

Various noises are heard by the players who report by Patrols to the Umpire afterwards as to what the noises were and the order in which they occurred.

The most correct report wins.

Suitable noises might be: -

bulletDrawing a cork
bulletdropping a pin
bulletpouring out liquid
bulletsharpening a pencil
bulletdropping a book 
bulletbrushing a boot
bulletmoving a chair
bulletdropping a rubber
bullettearing a sheet of paper
bulletshuffling a pack of cards
bulletsignaling with morse flag
bulletstriking a match
bulletrubbing the hands together
bulletwinding a watch
bulletclicking two pennies together
bulleterasing with india-rubber
bulletand so on.

Before each noise a warning call of "Right" should be given.

 

Feeling the Bags

.A number of strong similar paper bags are placed on a table. A variety of things are placed in the bags, such as: 

bullet sugar in one
bulletbuttons in another
bulletpeas
bullettea
bulletsand
bulletpepper
bulletsalt
bulletrice
bulletbreadcrumbs
bulletprunes
bulletlaundry detergent
bulletetc. 

The bags are numbered.

Each player in turn is allowed to feel each bag once, and must then write down what he thinks is in each bag, numbering his list according to the numbers on the bags. The most correct list wins.
